Easy Eights Quilt Pattern

Many of you expressed an interest in getting the pattern for Cathy Jolley's quilt called Easy Eights.  Here is a picture of Cathy's:

It is a gorgeous quilt and the pattern is easier than most would think.  Here is the pattern.  Jan at Quilt Etc gave Cathy permission to share with our quilt guild.

So remember to right click on each picture or page to save it to your computer and then you can print it from your computer.

Don't for get our next meeting is April 9th.. See you then.

A fun meeting

We had such a fun meeting the other day...if you missed it, here are some highlights.

We started with Show and Tell:

Arlene  gave us a demo on the Walking Foot

And Joyce Tarbet gave us information on Applique

Here is the handout she gave
She showed us her Applique blocks and her sister's and another friends blocks

She said there were free applique patterns at www.pieceocake.com (I checked it out and was impressed with all the free patterns)

Many were wanting the Mondo bag pattern so here it is:

Also Cathy told us about a couple of Quilt Show's coming up so I have scanned in the info on them.

Our next meeting will be held April 9th ....  See you then!!
(If I missed anything please accept my apology and let me know.  Please email me anything you want posted on the Blog   oldcapitalquiltguild@gmail.com )

Quilt Guild Meeting handouts

Just a post to remind you that Guild meeting is this Thursday March 12th at 11 am in the Library Conference Room.

Also wanted to post the Roster that Sue Weidauer put together.
If you are not on the roster and want to be just email Sue :  dsweidauer@gmail.com

Also it was requested to put on the instructions for preparing your quilt for binding and how to make binding.

Remember you can right click on these and save them to your computer so you can refer to them again and again.

I also have a fun sheet I got off the internet.  It is Quilting Acronyms.  It seems that the quilting industry has its own language and every once in awhile I have to look one up that I either see in a quilting blog or hear on tv.  I especially like WOMBAT!!

Hope to see you all at meeting!!
