March 2026

 Welcome

Christ Ann Jensen welcomed everyone to our meetings.

On-Time Drawing

Karen Jordan won AM On-Time Drawing. She received a needle threader.

Yard Sale

There is still time to donate to or buy from our Quilt Guild Yard Sale. All sales go to our scholarship fund.

Basket Block of the Month

Suzanne Hillestad demonstrated another basket block. Here she is showing a bias strip for a handle.

Completed Basket Blocks from Last Month

Denise Rohboch won the drawing for the morning meeting, and Chris Ann Jensen won the drawing for the evening meeting.

Tips, Tricks, and Techniques

Tafta Watson and Karen Jordon talked about borders. They had a Border Quiz that everyone participated in.

Karen reviewed the Fibonacci Sequence when making borders. She had a handout to help determine the sizes of borders needed for a quilt to be visually appealing.

Tafta demonstrated two ways to add borders with triangles, slanted piano keys, and interesting corners. She displayed two of her quilts with these techniques.

Members were asked to share quilts they had made with interesting borders. The following are quilts shared by different members.

Show and Share

Ellen Harmon made this Minecraft-and-other-games quilt for her grandson. Any gaming grandson would love this quilt.

Denise Rohbock

Denise showed us a "Hug" that she made and quilted. She donates these beautiful shawls to patients undergoing chemotherapy. They help to keep them warm.
Denise will show us how to make these "hugs" if you would like to donate.

Chris Ann Jensen and Beverly Veale showed us these booklets they made at the Snow Geese Quilt Festival.
