April 11th Quilt Guild Meeting

We had another fun meeting this week.  We will start with Show and Tell:

Annette Day came for a visit and brought some antique quilts to show
This first one is a signature quilt

This was a crocheted afghan that was  also embroidered on

 This one was  a very large hand quilted and hand pieced quilt

And then we showed our progress on the blocks of the month....

 

Then Cathy and Sue showed us the new blocks for this month...

 

 

And here are the directions for the new blocks

Cathy gave us a lesson on how to figure out the math for half square triangles

Susan handed out a chart showing what size square needed to achieve the desired size Half Square Triangle.

 

 

We had a delicious lunch  and enjoyed everyone's company. 

Our next meeting will be May 9th and we will be visiting various homes to see their sewing rooms.  We will meet at the Library at 10 am and will finish up at Donna's home for lunch.

I apologize for my pictures, looks like I need a new camera ( maybe for Mother's Day?)
