Meeting from July 11th

We had a really good turnout Monday July 11th for Quilt Guild.

Of Course we started out with show and tell:

Allison Johnson showed a cute rag quilt she made (sorry Allison for cutting your head off)

Leah showed us a quilt she made

The back

And the front
Marsha brought some cute note cards and pads that she got.  The covers look like old patterns..So cute!!
A new member Judy brought a quilt she made out of fabric samples

And Donna made 2 quilts

Arlene brought her block of the month
Arlene B finished her Quatrefoil Quilt

Sue W made fabric napkins for her brothers and sisters

Sue P made another baby quilt.

Cathy showed us how to make continuous bias binding...she uses it to make those wonderful bowls.  Here is the handout she gave us.
And if you need the formula for figuring out how much binding a square of fabric makes here it is:
1.  Width of square X length of square = Area

2.  Area divided by the width of binding = length of continuous bias binding

We enjoyed a special guest to show us a new block.  Her name is Vicki Stitham.  She is from Salina and is a longarmer and quilter.

She brought enough fabric for us all to make one.....

This is a table runner she made out of this block
She talked about how to prepare your quilt for a longarmer and here is the handout she supplied

And here is the pattern for the block

It is a fun block to make.

We enjoyed a nice luncheon.
Our next meeting will be August 8th at 11 am.....................
