Welcome
Christ Ann welcomed everyone. She had coupons from Mom's Crafts in Delta. The coupon is good for 20% off the total price of one purchase. We love how generous Mom's is in giving members of our guild a coupon for 20% off. If you do not have a coupon, talk to Chris Ann. She will give you one.
On-Time Drawing
Karen Jordan
and Terri Cummings won our On-Time Drawings. They each won a bamboo multi-function tool. It looks very simple but it is powerful. You can use it to poke out
corners, “finger-press” seams, and if you put the lead of a pencil in one of
the holes, you can draw arcs, curves, or circles.
Lucky Karen
and Terri. It pays to be on time for guild meetings.
Basket Block of the MonthSuzanne Hillestad presented another charming basket quilt block. It uses the same handle as the other baskets. To make the handles, she makes a bias strip and hand sews it to the block.
Blocks From Last Month
Due to sickness, only two blocks were finished from last month's pattern. However, many said they would soon finish their block.
Tips, Tricks, and Techniques
Tafta Watson introduced Choosing Colors for Quilts. Many of the ideas came from Jinny Beyer's book, Color Confidence for Quilters, Karen Jordan's classes on Just Get It Done, and other YouTube videos.
Tafta also showed examples of Hues, Tints, Shades, and Tones.
Karen Joran continued with the following principles: monochromatic, analogous, complementary, triadic, and split complementary.
These principles will be put to use next month when we focus on choosing colors for your quilts.

Everyone loved this charming wall hanging. It was an unfinished kit in Suzanne Hillestad's quilting stash. She finished it, and as you can see, it will look delightful on her wall or table this Halloween.
Suzanne just got this bright, fun, colorful Tumbler quilt back from the quilter. She still has to bind it. She used 10-inch squares with a tumble in the center of each.
If you are interested in making a Tumbler quilt using this same pattern or another Tumbler pattern, our guild has a Tumbler Template you can check out, use, and return. Talk to Chris Ann if you would like to use it.
Suzanne got a second quilt back from her quilter. She is being very industrious, finishing quilts. This quilt is so interesting. It takes on a fun, new look with the flying geese all flying to a corner. Her border also adds interest and movement to her quilt. As usual, it is very beautiful. Well done, Suzanne.
Shelli Richardson has been busy once again. Anything she does is always amazing. Take a look at some of the things she has been busy creating.
This heart wall hanging is beautiful and will look just right for Valentines as it spreads love to all who see it.
With these charming, harmonious colors, this star will look beautiful on the wall or on the top of a table.
Shelli made this mischievous monkey. Any child would love it.
Shelli not only made this sweatshirt for herself, she made one for her twin sister Kelli. Any kind of Dresden Plate looks good whether it is a quilt block, a wall hanging, or on a shirt. You will look great ladies when you wear your matching shirts. I hope we get to see you two wear your shirts at the same time.
Jodi received a bag just like this from her sister Terri Cummings for Christmas. Everyone loved it, even Jodi's son. When it came time to ask a girl from school to a dance, he wanted a bag like Jodi's to use when he asked her to the dance. Jodi needed one quickly. She called Terri and Terri quickly whipped out this adorable, little bag for Jodi's son to use. Everyone needs an aunt like Terri. Nothing is better than Family Help and Family Love.
