Welcome
Chris Ann welcomed everyone to our summer quilting activity. Thank you Chris Ann for always making us feel welcome. You are wonderful.
There were different activities in which to participate at our summer activity. Here are some of the activities we had available.
Tie a Quilt
We had a quilt to tie. The top was made by Tafta Watson. The material came from donated material from our Yard Sale supplemented with some of Tafta's quilting material.
The binding will be done by Denise Rohbock. She was so generous to offer to bind this quilt.
This quilt will be donated to the Millard County Sheriff's Department. The Millard County Sherriff's Department uses these quilts at different times to give to people in accidents, people being removed from domestic abuse and other situations, and can be used by someone staying the night in the lobby of the sheriff's department. There are also other circumstances in which they can be used.
It is wonderful that our officers can give a small quilt or blanket to people who need some security, warmth, or comfort. We are so happy to help our officers by donating these quilts and throws.
The finished quilt pictured below will also be donated to the Millard County Sheriff's Department, along with some fleece and Minky throws.
This second quilt was made by Diana Fuller. Again, the material came from our yard sale and supplemented with material from Diana's stash.
Both of these quilts center around Duck Dynasty fabric. They will be great for the Sheriff's Department to use.
Bibs
Some of our participants cut out, sewed, and made bibs.
Deanna Peterson headed up this second service project for our guild. She originally made a cute bib for her mother-in-law to use in the care center. It was so popular, more bibs were wanted. She shared a pattern and invited us to make Bibs for the Millard County Extended Care Center.
With the donation of these current bibs, we will have donated over 60 bibs for the residents to use. There have been some cute, unique bibs made. These pictures show just a few of the bibs to be donated.
Quilt Show Ribbons
The theme of the quilt show this year is, "250 Years of Stars and Stripes."
Each quilt displayed will have a cute patriotic ribbon hung on it. Valene Haupt, Terri Cummings, and Jana Whicker and a few others made 150 ribbons for the quilt show. These ladies worked so hard to make this ribbons. They are very cute.
